OVERVIEW

Jewellery Workshop in the Grand Bazaar

“This is a very special Grand Bazaar experience. Something unusual..”

Unusual Grand Bazaar experience

We all know that everybody is here in the Grand Bazaar to buy some rings, bracelets, handicrafts…What if I’d say -instead of buying- we were going to make one?

Work in a hidden inn of the Bazaar

The workshop is located in one of the hidden inns of the Grand Bazaar. You definitely need to have your map ready as you make your way to the atelier. Learn the art of jewellery and goldsmith from Eren Usta (Usta means master or teacher in Turkish). He’s been actively devoting himself to this handicraft for almost 25 year from now. Usta says he learned this workmanship from his father.

Get inspired by Istanbul’s vibe and creative thinking

Be inspired by Istanbul’s vibe and creative thinking. And of-course the Grand Bazaar and it’s surrounding hidden alleys will become your source of inspiration.

Hands-on.. Learn how to make a silver ring in three hours!

Our workshop lasts approximately three hours. To be able to spend more time with each student, we decided to allow up to 4 people in our classes. After meeting each other and of-course having a cup of Turkish tea, we first start with the tools and objects which we’ll be using during our jewellery workshop session.

Eren Usta has been actively devoting himself to this handicraft for almost 25 year

Choose your favourite ring and start making it!

Following the short introduction, you’ll need to choose among four different ring types. After you decide which ring you are interested in making, Eren Usta briefs you on how to make it. We turn the music on and start! Hands-on…
